Last post... A photograph I like :)

This photograph is an old one, from 2009. I think I was thirteen years old.  It was taken by a colleague of my dad who was travelling with us. I remember that it was July and we were travelling from Coyhaique back to Puerto Aysén. How you can see, It was snowing very much. In the photograph I’m with my dad and my mom.

I like this photo because I think that the landscape it’s very beautiful and bring me a lot of remembers from my home. Also,  I love the snow, I like to play on it, I like to see it and feel the cold. The snow is the best!

Post 5: My life's main events!

1996   I was born on November 4, in Coyhaique, Aysen Region. My mom said that it was Monday and a rainy day.

2002  I started the first grade in the Kalem school. I don't remember so much about this jaja :)





2005 Frodo, an albino boxer came into our lives! He was my playmate :)








2010  I graduated from "Basic Education" (8^th grade)  at the same school. The ceremony was really emotive.




2011 I went to my first rock festival!!  It was called "Maquinaria Festival"  and the lime up of that year was amazing! Megadeth, Faith no More, Stone Temple Pilots, Primus. Alice in Chains, Sonic Youth and more!

2012 I went to Buenos Aires to a fencing international competition with teammates. We didn't know so much of the city because we were busy.








2014 I graduated from high school! We were the first grade in graduate from Kalem School, so the ceremony was big and very emotive. We cried a LOT!

2015 I began to study Veterinarian Medicine at Universidad de Chile. Also, the same year I Went to my second rock festival: Santiago Gets Louder, with my brother. The most I liked was the concert of Faith no More and System of a Down!

Post 3: A country I would like to visit... Germany!

I definitely want to go to Germany! Why? Because I think that It’s a very beautiful country, with great architecture, art, culture, history, and also I love the idiom! I would like to learn it one day.

I like the World War II history very much, I think that it’s one of the most important episodes of modern human history and we have to learn from it, so we won’t repeat the same mistakes in future. Germany is one of the protagonist of this event, so I’m very interested in visiting the museums related to the war.

Germany is a country with a large history, before 1814 it was a group of tribes and empires. In 1814 was founded the German Confederation and Empire. Germany was declared a republic at the beginning of the German Revolution in November 1918. The country participate on the World war I, and then in 1939, during the Adolf Hitler government, take part on World war II.

I would like to visit different cities, museums, monuments, natural landscapes, and… Go to rock concerts or festivals! I would like to see a Rammstein concert in their own country. Also, If I could, I would try to travel to another near country, like Holland.

I think that I would like to study there, a postgraduate it would be great, but also I would try  to learn the language, I think that it’s very difficult but also beautiful.

Activity 1: National Geographic Website.

The first photo that I chose was this one of an albino hedgehog walking on the grass. The difference between a white and an albino hedgehog are the red eyes and the color of the spikes. I liked it because my pet is a hedghehog named Jeff.

In this picture we can see a volcano eruption. I like the lava color (I love purple), but I don’t know why it is like that. I think that it is a very beautiful photo, and show the magnificence of nature. 

 

This photo of a fisherman with cormorants represents a traditional Chinese scene. In some coastal towns, the fishermen are helped by these birds to capture the fish. In exchange, the cormorants can eat some. Over time, this tradition has been lost.

- Videos:

The first one shows the coexistence between hippos and crocodiles. Althought both are considered dangerous animals, they do not fight each other. I think is because of the big size of the hippo, the crocodiles has no chance against them.

The second video that I liked it shows how the chimps are capable to create and use tools. They use it for many activities, like hunting insects or drinking water.  I like chimps because they are very intelligent, as we can see. 

My favorite gadget:

My favorite gadget these days is my laptop. It’s a very expensive computer but I get it for the third part of its true value. Lucky! My father give it to me for my birthday and Christmas the last year.

I use it for everything! I use it to study, listen to music, watch movies, look for bass tabs, and principally I use it to play online video games (not too much lately).

I use my laptop almost every day, but sometimes I get bored and if it’s not necessary I don’t even turn it on.

I like it because it’s fast, I can play video games and don’t even need a Booster. I like it because it’s useful too, I don’t need to carry with many things, it’s almost everything there! I have books, photos, songs, documents, movies, etc.

My life without my laptop, after a couple of days, it would be boring! I can survive without it, of course, and if I’m with nice company it would be easier. But I’m going to need it one day.

Opinions!

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

I completely agree, because I think that there are cases when it’s inhuman to force women to end pregnancy. For example, when the mother’s life is in dangerous she should make a decision for herself.

What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana?

I’m not sure because marijuana is less harmful for the health than alcohol or cigarettes. But, in case of people with psychiatric illness it’s very dangerous. It's usually make them more violent or cause suicides.

What is your opinion about recycling?

I think it’s very important. Today we produce tons of garbage and one day is going to be too much for the earth if we don’t do something right now (it’s already too much but we still have options).

What is your opinion about violence on television?

I think it’s not really important. Violence is everywhere! On the streets, on the internet, on the books, on the TV. There’s no escape. The important thing here is to stop reproducing ALL kind of violence.

What is your opinion about fortune telling?

I’m not sure. I have known about a woman who is very specific and usually her predictions are correct. But, I think that I have to check by myself first in order to believe in their supposed gift.

My autobiography

Hello everyone! My name is Valentina Pavez and I’m 18 years old. I was born in Coyhaique, but I lived until 2015 in Puerto Aysen. I studied at Colegio Kalem since 2002 to 2014. We were only 14 students in 4^th  grade of highschool. Our generation was the first in graduate from that school. We traveled together to Puyuhuapi and Chile Chico in our last year of school, with some teachers and parents. Now, I’m studying Veterinary Medicine at the “Universidad de Chile”, in Santiago.

I moved to Santiago with my parents in April of this year. I have one brother and one sister, both older than me. They are living in Valparaiso.

We also have two pets: A 4 years old Dachshund dog called Pepper, and a 4 months old hedgehog named Jeff. They doesn’t like each other.

I like a lot to play bass, listen to music and read horror books. My favorite authors are H.P Lovecraft and Stephen King. I don’t have a favorite band, but I love Pink Floyd because it reminds me my childhood with my brother.
